Welcome to Astra! This guide will help you understand how Astra works and create your first automation in just a few minutes.

What is Astra?

Astra is your AI-powered productivity command center that connects to all your favorite tools and services. Instead of switching between multiple apps and performing repetitive tasks manually, you can simply tell Astra what you want to do in natural language.

How Does Astra Work?

Astra uses advanced AI to understand your natural language commands and execute actions across your connected integrations. Here's the basic flow:

  1. You describe what you want: Type your request in plain English, like "Send the Q4 report to the team on Slack."
  2. Astra understands your intent: Our AI analyzes your request and determines which tools and actions are needed.
  3. Actions are executed: Astra carries out the necessary steps across your connected integrations.
  4. You get confirmation: Astra reports back with the results and any relevant details.

Getting Started in 3 Steps

Create Your Account

Sign up for a free Conduit account at conduit.app/signup. You can start with the free tier and upgrade anytime as your needs grow.

Connect Your Integrations

Navigate to Settings → Integrations and connect the tools you use daily. We support:

  • Stripe - Payment processing and subscriptions
  • PayPal - Send invoices and track transactions
  • Notion - Manage documents and databases
  • Slack - Team communication and channels
  • Google Workspace - Calendar, Gmail, and Drive
  • GitHub - Repository and issue management
  • Linear - Project and issue tracking

Start Asking Astra

Open the Astra chat interface and start giving commands. Try something simple like:

  • "Check my Stripe balance for this month"
  • "Create a new GitHub issue titled 'Fix login bug'"
  • "Send a message to #general on Slack saying 'Meeting in 5 minutes'"

Tips for Effective Prompts

Get better results from Astra by following these best practices:

  • Be specific: Instead of "send email," try "send an email to john@example.com with subject 'Project Update' and body 'Here's the latest on the project...'"
  • Mention the tool: If you want an action in a specific app, mention it: "Create a Notion page" or "Add a Linear issue."
  • Provide context: Include relevant details like dates, amounts, or names to make your request clearer.
  • Use natural language: Don't worry about perfect syntax—Astra understands conversational requests.

Understanding AI Actions

Each request you make to Astra consumes "AI Actions" from your monthly allowance. The number of actions depends on your subscription tier:

  • Free Tier: 50 actions per month
  • Plus Tier: 1,000 actions per month
  • Pro Tier: 5,000 actions per month
