Business texting approval

A one-time carrier registration before your assistant can text customers — with an EIN, or as a sole proprietor with none. Approval takes about 1–3 weeks.

Texting sends from your own business number — the same number your assistant answers. Before it can text customers, US carriers require a one-time registration. It's an anti-spam rule, not ours, and every provider has to follow it.

You do not need an EIN. There are two ways to register, and we pick the right one from what you tell us:

  • Have an EIN (federal tax ID)? Register as a business — legal name, EIN, and an optional website. Higher texting limits.
  • No EIN — just you? Register as a sole proprietor with your name, address, email, and a one-time text to your mobile to confirm it's you. No tax ID required.

Approval typically takes about 1–3 weeks. Your assistant answers calls the whole time — voice never waits on texting. Texting switches on automatically the moment approval clears. If a registration comes back rejected it's fixable — usually the business name not matching records — so fix and resubmit from Settings → Texting.
